It looks like the west side is getting a splash of vibrancy with The Colour Studio, a series of events and workshops showcasing fashion and interior trends for the upcoming Autumn and Winter seasons.
Held at Highpoint Shopping Centre and coinciding with the premiere of Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF), The Colour Studio was created by Hayley Scilini, an up and coming Melbourne artist with a keen eye for geometric abstraction art. Considering it her most ambitious project to date, Scilini pays homage to the west side by creating a space of artistic ambiguity filled with bright colours and geometric shapes.
‘The west is one of the most interesting and exciting creative hubs in Melbourne, I’ve been inspired by its individuality. I love working with strong colours and shapes and Highpoint is the perfect fit for such a statement piece,’ she said.
‘The Colour Studio is about transformation. Celebrating life and energy through a sense of motion/movement/transition. It’s dynamic like our community.’
Along with providing all the best hints and tips for getting the best look in your home and in your wardrobe, pop up fashion shows will also showcase the latest Autumn/Winter fashion trends. The activation will conclude with a full workshop program from Friday 21 March to Sunday 23 March including an I Scream Nails nail art workshop, clothing embellishment, clutch bag design and seasonal style seminars with Highpoint fashion ambassador, Nadia Bartel.
